Charity Update

Wow, this morning we exceeded the £1,000-00 with Liz & Steve (see attached picture), long-time & loyal Customers, making a generous donating and surpassing this amazing target.
During our business careers, Sarah & I have met a lot of hardworking, inspirational, and dedicated people, however, none surpass Jasmin (founder of Cancer Hair Care), Margherita and their team. It is common for the team to be working long and unsociable hours. When talking to Jasmin it is clear she dedicates her life to helping others and simply loves what she does; she does not see it as a job but a calling.
The compassion and dedication of the team at Cancer Hair Care show is unwavering, we have worked with them for over 10 years and are always inspired by their attitude and motivation to help others.
We also know that every penny donated goes straight back into the community and helps those in most need, especially in these unprecedented times. Cancer Hair Care have had to adapt in these uncertain times, but their support is as important as ever. They receive dozens of messages each week with people thanking them for their support and service. See attached flyer highlighting some of their current services.
We cannot, therefore, thank you enough for raising over £1,000-00 over the last few days, it will genuinely make a difference. If you have not donated and wish to there is still time, please use the link as below. We will keep our fundraising pages open until the end of the month.

Once again, even into our eleventh year, the wonderful and loyal friends & customers of the Tearooms have supported our charity work – even during a worldwide pandemic!
Thank you, thank you, thank you……x

Charity Event 2020

Our legendary fundraising day in September at Brewery Tearooms cannot go ahead this year due to Covid.

As our wonderful and loyal customers know, every year we hold an annual event and raise thousands of pounds for our chosen charity – Cancer Hair Care (Charity number – 1145258).

We would like to think we have enough supporters who could help us raise a minimum of £547.77, which is the amount we raised at our very first fundraising charity weekend, eleven years ago in 2009. As you will know, the amount raised has grown considerably over the years.

With just a £2 (two pounds) donation, less than the cost of a cup of tea or coffee, from a small proportion of our followers, we should easily raise/exceed this target.

You know we have been very proud over the years to have raised substantial funds for charities that remain close to our heart. This year should be no exception, albeit that we are in unprecedented times and are unable to bring you all together in the traditional way that we have previously enjoyed.

We appreciate it is a difficult time for everybody, but our chosen charity needs help more than ever.

We’ve kick started the fundraising by donating tips and generous donations already made from our lovely customers during the last few months.

Please note we are shut this Sunday & Monday re-opening on Tuesday at 10.30am for outside seating, takeaways, deliveries etc. As per previous posts, thanks to the majority of you who understand why we are being super safe and not doing things the way we want to. At this time our priority is to keep everyone as safe as possible. Thanks for your understanding in such unprecedented times. X

Please note, we are now closed until Tuesday 15th September. Re-opening on the Tuesday at 10:30am. We look forward to seeing you then. Still at phase 2 – outside seating (indoors, including toilets are shut) hatch service and take away ☕🧁

Thanks for the support

Dear Friends,

We wanted to say a big thanks to all of you who have supported us during these difficult times. As you aware we have not bowed to the financial pressures on small family businesses such as ours and have put the safety and health of our team, customers and family first.

We will not compromise on this and it has been reassuring to hear people comment that they feel comforted by our approach.
Of course, it is difficult for us knowing that we are not providing the facilities and serving you in the way we used to enjoy, but this will return – we have to be patient.

It is going to be even more important to be cautious over the forthcoming weeks & months, but as we can offer our current services (our outside seating, home-deliveries and takeaways) safely we will continue to do so into the Autumn and Winter months. We will be erecting a small marquee to the front, which will be cosy and warm for those wetter and colder days!

We’ll continue to monitor the situation and consider limited inside seating later in October. Further updates will follow in due course.

Last, it is with regret that we can not hold our infamous charity weekend at the end of September. As you know, over the years we have raised literally thousands of pounds for Cancer Hair Care and Macmillan. We will, however, be launching an online fundraiser over the next week or so, with the aim of matching/beating our first ever total raised in 2009. Further detail to follow.

Please keep safe and thanks again for the support.

Opening update & live event

Dear Friends,

We hope you are keeping safe during these uncertain times, and that you are well.

Since writing last we have opened our outdoor space and continue with our popular takeaway & home delivery services.

Due to the impending winter we are erecting a marquee to the front of Tearooms, which will be cosy and warm for those winter months. This will be available for outside seating from mid September and enable us to serve Afternoon High Teas, along with our daily offerings, without having to rely on the weather!

Subject to the effect of the schools re-opening, we are considering opening inside on a pre-booked and limited table basis, in October. We will update further on this in due course.

This Thursday, at 7.30pm, is the launch of our first virtual shopping evening via Facebook Live. Simply click on our Facebook Link http://www.facebook.com/brewerytearooms/ and you’ll see the live event.

We are also launching shopping slots on a pre-bookable basis (first two customers pictured today!). Just call us on 01438 861930 if you wish to book to visit our gift shop.

Last, please stay safe and healthy. We hope to see you soon.

Sarah & the team x

Phase 2 of re-opening

Come and see us! We are moving into phase 2 of our re-opening. You can either pre-order or order at our safe serving hatch. In addition to the normal treats, we have more lunch options, including paninis, brioche quiches, homemade quiches, toasted bagels and more, these are all subject to availability. Enjoy your lunch, cream tea, treats, coffee, tea etc at one of our outside tables.

A big thanks to all of you who have supported us through phase 1 and although this is a baby step foward we are moving in the right direction.

We are still taking orders for takeaway & delivery of Afternoon High Teas/ treat & picnic boxes.

Stay safe. X
