Our mini bottles of fizz were always popular when celebrating with an Afternoon High Tea inside the Tearooms. Luckily, our licence enables us to sell this to accompany your Afternoon High Teas at home. If collecting you can purchase at our safe serving hatch or if you’ve already booked a delivery, just give us a call and we’ll add it to your order. Preparations are well underway with some Mum’s celebrating early. Just call us on 01438 861930. 💕
As we are at capacity for our special Mother’s Day Afternoon Teas over the Mother’s Day weekend, we are offering mixed treat boxes. Here’s a little peak at some of the items that can be included, along with our legendary scones & brownies. They must be pre-booked and collected. Call us on 01438861930 to order – limited availability. ❤️x

We are keener than ever to open our doors to you , and resuming our deliveries and collection service is just the beginning of our cautious and gentle unlocking . We need to continue to safeguard and remain vigilant as a priority.
We know it is a particularly challenging time for many at present , but reassuring to know that there is lots of positive news on the horizon and that things WILL improve. Looking forward, Spring is not too far around the corner and many of the activities that we hold close to our hearts will come to fruition.
The Tearooms are a lifeline for some people, especially those who live alone, and being able to meet up with a friend or loved-one to share a tea or coffee is something that we all long for.
We are keener than ever to open our doors to you, but feel that we have a social responsibility to wait until it is safer to do so. During the pandemic, our mantra has been to try to ‘do the right thing, at the right time’, and so we will continue to monitor the situation on a weekly basis and adapt as necessary.
We are keen to resume our take-away and home delivery service as soon as is possible and will update further via this site and our social media at the end of the month.
In the meantime , rest assured that the Brewery Kitchens are not laying idle….New soup recipes are being trialled, artisan coffee skills are being honed and our scones are being baked to ensure that we don’t become lazy ! (Nigel is chief taster and quality controller).
Don’t forget that you can still purchase gift vouchers by phone or online on our website.
We know this year has been unprecedented and has affected us all in different ways. We’ve had to close, adapt, offer services we’ve never offered before and pretty much operate the Tearooms differently to how we would like.
Despite all this, we have received amazing support and encouragement for which we are truly grateful. We hope we’ve been able to bring some happiness with deliveries and cake magic on some of the dark days. We’ve even managed to pick up an award along the way!
Your continued support will enable us to return next year and keep our wonderful team, largely, intact.
Rather than push the rules to their limit, we have throughout the year put our moral duty and everyone’s safety ahead of turnover. It is for these reasons we have now closed the Tearooms (previously ordered collections only) with the last day for 2020 being Wednesday, 23 December. As per previous years we intend re-opening in mid January when it is safe to do so. We will announce a date once the current situation has improved.
Christmas is our favourite time of year, here at Brewery Tearooms, and this year we have missed the love and laughter you bring as our extended ‘Tearoom Family’. We’ve enjoyed seeing some of you during ‘click and collect’ and made lots of new friends. None of this can replace the magical atmosphere that we normally experience during the festive period, but let’s be thankful for all that we have, and count our numerous blessings.
Stay safe, have a Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
As most of you know, we normally close for Christmas and re-open mid January. In view of today’s developments we will be providing collections for those orders already taken and then close for Christmas on 23rd as planned. We’ll update further with our re-opening date in the New Year.
A pre Christmas message will be posted over the next few days. Please keep safe. X
In 1848, Samuel Wright pledged £3000 for a ‘malting bond’ enabling him to brew soft drinks, minerals and ciders. Thus Wrights Brewery was formed, becoming an important family business and prominent employer in the area. You can see
a copy of this bond in the Tearooms along with photographs of the factory workers from the 1940’s and the fleet of company vehicles parked outside Brewery House.
Brewery House has been privately owned for the last 17 years and the current owners, Sarah and Nigel wished to preserve the heritage of the old Brewery and have achieved this by opening up part of the house as The Brewery Tearooms, enabling others to share in its charm.
We're waiting to welcome you to The Brewery Tea Rooms.
