We are excited to announce that we have been shortlisted as finalist in four categories (best Cafe/Tearoom, Service to the Community, Best Customer Service and Food Hero) in this year’s Hertfordshire Life Food and Drinks awards. Unbeknown to us at the time, a lot of you have voted for us resulting in this amazing recognition. So a big thanks to all of you who support us.
We are pleased to have reached the finals and will be attending the awards ceremony in late July. Watch this space…..
As most of you know, the unseen heart of the business is Sarah’s Mum. She bakes tirelessly every day and is a simply amazing inspiration. Our challenge now is to get her to the awards night!

Diary Dates

Due to popular demand we will only be closing for our summer break for the first two weeks in August. Our last day of opening will be Saturday, 29 July – re-opening on Tuesday, 15 August 2017. The end of July and August is already booking fast so feel free to reserve your table nice and early.

We will also be running our Macmillan/Cancer Hair Care charity weekend at the end of September 2017 (Friday 29 & Saturday 30 September). On the Friday we will be hosting the world’s biggest coffee day and Saturday will be our charity bike rides (Tearoom open as normal). Further detail to follow.

Dear Customers,

First, a big thanks to all of you who nominated us for this year’s Hertfordshire Life’s Food and Drink Awards. We are delighted to have been been selected in three categories this year and the final submissions have just been submitted. Meanwhile, life carries on as normal with busy days spent baking and trying out new recipes. We’ve also started organising our big charity fundraising weekend for later this year. Further detail to follow.

Now we are fully licenced, chilled glasses of Prosecco are going down well with Afternoon High Teas, which are very much in demand. Don’t forget you need to pre-book these, so give us a ring on 01438 861930 to make your reservation.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we will be hosting a Valentine’s High Tea event on Sunday, 12th February. Tea will be served at 12.30pm and 2.30pm, with limited spaces – so why not treat your loved one (or failing that – your friend) to a celebratory 3-tier treat. Reservations are essential – priced at £23.99 per head, call us on 01438 861930 to book your table. You can also enjoy a glass of fizz at your favourite village tea room.

Wishing a Happy New Year to all our friends and customers.  It was a momentous year for the Tearooms, collecting a second award in November. This time for ‘Outstanding Customer Service’, which you can read all about in the current edition of Hertfordshire Life.  The picture above was taken on a night out celebrating our win and you will see our certificate and plate proudly adorning our wall when you next come and visit.

The Christmas cobwebs and pine-needles have all been swept away and our coffee machine is polished and ready to get to work.  Our team are all looking forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 24  January, just a couple of weeks before Valentine’s Day (booking details to follow). The Brewery kitchen is already in the swing of things, testing out some new winter-warming soup recipes, along with our favourite home-made cakes and scones.  Sarah and the shop fairies are currently busy at work, re-stocking our pretty gift shop and sourcing new ranges for the forthcoming Spring season.

Thank you to everyone who helped us raise lots of money for charity in our Christmas raffle and by supporting our lovely festive carol service.  Together we raised over £1,100,.oo which we are delighted to donate to Cancer Hair Care to help children and teenagers fighting cancer. Once again, the wonderful Stevenage Community Choir came along on the 22nd December and provided a fantastic carol service, all so generously donating their time.

We look forward to offering you a warm welcome in 2017.

As it is the last Sunday before Christmas we are open from 10.30am to 4pm.

We are also open on Monday, 19^th December with our last day being Thursday, 22^nd before our winter break.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas….Beautiful hand-picked gifts and decorations are arriving on a daily basis here at the Brewery Tea rooms. For the early and (organised) Christmas shoppers amongst you, we’ll be hosting our first preview event of the season on

We will be opening the doors at 9.30am through until 8.30 pm for a newly re-stocked and sparkly winter grotto of gorgeous gifts, seasonal home ware and beautiful decorations – and to celebrate this brand new season, to offer you Christmas canapés, candlelight and mulled wine to ease you into the festive spirit!
