By popular demand and to celebrate winning our recent awards, Best Independent Tearoom and Best Customer Service in Hertfordshire, we are proud to host a pop-up Indian tapas evening on Friday, 27 October 2017.
Brewery Tearooms have teamed up with guest chef, Saira Hamilton; MasterChef Finalist, renowned chef, food writer and author of several food related books (for sale and signing on the night).
Saira will be serving a host of Indian street food classics, including chotpoti, dhal bora (v), samosas (lamb & veggie), masala potatoes (move over patatas bravas!), Indian fishcakes, kofte kebabs, Afghan aubergine(v), mango kulfi (v), – price £29.95 per head (three courses) excluding drinks. To compliment the food, we have specially selected a range of cocktails, wines and beers for your enjoyment. A VIP dining area in our summer house is available for those who want a more intimate dining area (seats up to 12 and can be booked exclusively).

Charity donations go through the Big Top!!

macmillan 2017

Thank you to everyone who so kindly supported our eighth annual Macmillan Fundraiser over last weekend (Friday, 29th and Saturday, 30th September 2017).
For those of you who were unable to attend, it was a truly heart-warming day with plenty of clowns, ringmasters, mime artists, harlequins and clairvoyants who participated in our ‘Circus’ themed charity event.
The garden attractions included a bric-a-brac sale, palmistry, wine tombola, silent auction and raffle. A steady stream of customers filled the tearooms with laughter and colour, and copious amounts of scones, teas & coffees were consumed.
It was a fun filled day, setting the scene for our second charity bike ride on Saturday. Over 45 riders set off with a choice of three routes; 20km, 50km and 100km, through the Hertfordshire countryside.
We are truly thankful to everyone who said ‘keep the change’, donated, helped over the two days, baked a cake or supported the event.
A special mention also to my wonderful staff who worked so hard before, during and afterwards, and smiled and had fun throughout.
The combined total raised this year has exceeded £5,000-00, with donations still being received, and will be divided equally between Macmillan and Cancer Hair Care (our chosen local charity). The funds will, hopefully, help give comfort to someone suffering with cancer.
Thanks again, we couldn’t have done it without you….
